Creekside Publishing News Up Date
January 2013
This year it is planned to republish ‘WOODBRIDGE & BEYOND’ a book, about the History of Woodbridge, first published in 1972. This book has been reprinted several times before, but always with old black & white photographs. This time, when I have taken enough, we hope to use colour photographs. Quite who will reprint this we are not certain, it might be under another imprint.
A new book planned for this year is THE BEST CROP. This will record features of our own business, starting with farming, arable and livestock, and then shifting to property development and then shellfish. It is a land meets the sea story, but it has been rewritten several times to get the story readable and correct. The book starts in World War II and ends with activities afloat with Jonathan and Harry in our wooden boats developing the shellfish business.
With so many bookshops closing, to say nothing of publishers vanishing, one does wonder about the whole future of books. However as we had the best sales last year for a decade, we hope that there are still going to be enough people who enjoy a good family history told in a readable way with good illustrations.
We have reduced the prices of some of the early books and been able to obtain some of the titles that are out of print. Send us e-mails and we will let you know if we have a few copies.
